I’ve been to a few more funerals and visited a few more cemeteries this year, and I’ve been marking the gps location of family and in-laws where they rest. I’ve seen a lot of dashes.
The story of the dash is heard at funerals. It’s not the year you were born or the year you died that made your life. It’s the dash between the years. The dash represents all you did.
I don’t want a dash on my gravesite. I want a less than sign.

I hope I live my life in such a way that my death has a greater magnitude than my birth.
